I re-shot some car scenes today. It was especially annoying to film backgrounds while I drove down the road, quite scary actually. All the dicks in this town (everyone) thought I was driving too slow, even though I happened to be going through a lot of construction areas with reduced speed limits, and I feel like other drivers are going to think I was filming them and are gonna call the cops. I'm getting really paranoid over this.
Yet, I have even more car stuff to film. Mainly exterior shots. If only I could have a road to myself for once. And I thought the car stuff would be easy. I'm actually looking forward to getting it out of the way.
I'd post progress shots, but progress is being delayed because I'm busy rendering a clip: The background footage, minus my angry rants that can be heard towards the end. I want to forget about it.
EDIT:
I do have a tripod, and I have been using it for everything. Shhh!
About
One Man Movie (OMM) is a short, 6-8 minute action flick that is being made entirely by myself. I'm doing the writing, directing, acting, editing, music, graphics, and promotional stuff with no help from anyone else.
And no, I did not build the camera from scratch, write the software, create the fonts, effects packs, nor the characters clothing. Those are all props and tools. What's a man without his tools?
Despite the the short length of the film, it will be weeks (months?) from now before it is completed due to the technical craziness required in order to have multiple characters played by the same person coexist and interact on the same screen. It shouldn't be a problem though. Just time consuming.
This blog will follow my day-to-day experiences on developing and releasing the film, mainly because I need SOMEONE to rant to so I don't leak it to real life people.
I started the project in early September, when I wrote the story and created the musical score. From then until late September, I fleshed out the story, collected props, and finally bought a slightly better camera. Filming began in late September.

ReplyDeleteMaybe put up a sign on your car? "Documentary Filming In Progress?" (People trust documentary film makers more, in my experience)
ReplyDeletehow do you film yourself, just using a tripod?
ReplyDeleteso will this be like "The Mighty Boosh" or more like "The 700 Club"?
ReplyDeletei would prefer if you added your angry rants...

ReplyDeleteSupporting!
ReplyDeleteMust be hard to work amongst regular folks.
ReplyDeleteHey man, I'd like to review your movie as soon as your done with it. I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself so if you'd like an opinion early, then I'd be happy to lend my services. Let me know, bro. I'll be back next post!
ReplyDeleteWell, looking forward to it regardless.
ReplyDeleteDude why dont you just buy like some clamp or little stand/tripod for the camera.
ReplyDeleteI hate people who speed and want to pass you always, they're going to get there at the same time no matter what.
ReplyDeletenice post
ReplyDeleteI like your ideas here :)
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you are following through with this. Don't worry about drivers - most of them around here are dicks too. Hey we might live in the same town? haha
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could some how get some help or assistance from the neighborhood. Perhaps get them to section off something for like a short piece of road for like an hour. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteNice, hopefully your rendering goes well lol
