About

One Man Movie (OMM) is a short, 6-8 minute action flick that is being made entirely by myself. I'm doing the writing, directing, acting, editing, music, graphics, and promotional stuff with no help from anyone else. And no, I did not build the camera from scratch, write the software, create the fonts, effects packs, nor the characters clothing. Those are all props and tools. What's a man without his tools? Despite the the short length of the film, it will be weeks (months?) from now before it is completed due to the technical craziness required in order to have multiple characters played by the same person coexist and interact on the same screen. It shouldn't be a problem though. Just time consuming. This blog will follow my day-to-day experiences on developing and releasing the film, mainly because I need SOMEONE to rant to so I don't leak it to real life people. I started the project in early September, when I wrote the story and created the musical score. From then until late September, I fleshed out the story, collected props, and finally bought a slightly better camera. Filming began in late September.

Saturday 10/16 - Just checking in

Not much going on lately, except homework and other things keeping me from updating the blog.

I may have found a location for filming. Some kids who apparently go to my school did some stupid-ass video for like a government class or something, which I saw on facebook. The location used in the video, though, is literally perfect for movie projects. It's basically a desert lot, but with an abandoned wooden ramada/building/shed thing and some industrial structures laying about. I asked on youtube about it, and all I was able to get was "it's filmed in southern arizona" blah blah. I replied back explaining that I live there and I actually go to his school, but I haven't gotten a reply back yet. I decided to take things into my own hands, and look for this place myself. By looking at the juxtaposition of the mountains in the background of the video, I've located where it must be within 2-3 miles, and there's probably 2 possible roads it could be on. I drove down to that area (first time driving since shit happened), with no luck, but I think I must've missed it. I've found the closest thing to what it could be on Google Earth, but it's not a perfect match. I'll try again soon.

A little undecided about adding in that explosion discussed in an earlier post.

Considering buying a shoulder brace.

My first physical therapy session begins Tuesday.

  5. I would wait to see what the therapist says when you go there before buying anything. Also you may be able to get a prescription for one and have your insurance cover it and not have to worry about paying for it out of pocket.

Wish I could help with finding that location for you. Kind of stupid for those people to not give you the location.

Hope it all works out for you.

  7. thx for the update. You said there's a Ramada? Call them and ask where they used to be located.

and good luck with the therapist. they'll tell you if you need a brace and what kind. I've documented my elbow surgery and the brace I use on here: www.humblefan.blogspot.com
